A Fulani herdsman leader in Zamfara state by the name Alhaji Ruwa, has out of his own volitiion surrendered his ammunition to troops of the 223 Battalion, 1 Brigade Division of Nigerian army.

The leader of the Fulani submitted over two locally fabricated pistols and three Dane guns to the military.

The acting director, army public relations, Col Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the Fulani herdsmen leader reiterated that Ruwa promised to convince all other known armed herdsmen to come out and renounce their illegal use of ammunition against the government.
“This is in continuation of ongoing efforts to rid Zamfara State of the menace of livestock rustling and armed banditry,” Col Usman stated.

There seems to be a truce between Ekiti state government and Fulani herdsmen as the state government has agreed to build ranches for the herdsmen following an extensive discussion on the issue.
